5. Dunes Route, Kinmel Bay

Activity: Walking
Description:

This is a circular walk that is approximately 1.4 miles in length. Starting at the gate of the dunes heading east along the footpath following the green ‘Outdoor Challenge’ markers. After approximately 5 minutes the path will lead you toward the promenade where you will head toward Rhyl before turning back at the marked point. There you will walk along the promenade west bound for approximately 15 minutes before reentering the dunes to follow the footpath back toward the car park.

How to get to the start :

Eastbound: Traveling East bound along the A55 turn off at junction 23a for Towyn. Follow the coast road along to a crossroads controlled by traffic lights. Turn left here, follow this road past Asda on your left straight ahead into the Dunes car park. Alternatively travel east bound along the A55 and turn off at junction 24, take the first left and follow Abergele road until you reach a roundabout. Turn left here and follow St. Asaph Avenue until you reach the crossroads controlled by traffic lights. Continue straight over, past Asda into the Dunes car park.

Westbound: If traveling west bound on the A55 turn off at the Glan Clwyd Hospital turn off. Cross over the A55 and at the roundabout take first left. Travel for 300 yards and take 2nd on right. Travel on this road to the next round about, go straight ahead. Follow St. Asaph Avenue for approximately 1.7 miles until you reach the crossroads controlled by traffic lights. Go straight over, past Asda into the Kinmel Bay Dunes car park.
