The park is situated Cefn Mawr with glorious views including the world famous Pontcysyllte Aqueduct.

Orienteering:
There will be a permanent orienteering trail at the country park shortly. The trail will start at the visitor centre, past the memorial dovecote and viaduct along the path beside the river Dee to eventually reach the aqueduct. The route will take you through beautiful countryside and glorious views of the surrounding countryside. Orienteering maps will be available form the visitor centre. You will require a pen and pencil to record the information on the trail.
Walking:
There is a permanent walk at Ty Mawr with glorious views of the countryside. The walk starts at the visitor centre. On leaving the visitor centre turn right and after 50m turn right again, down a lane. This path will then take you by the memorial dovecote and the viaduct.
Follow the path alongside the river for half a mile. Just before the path turns to the right to go up the hill, turn left down the steps and onto a boardwalk. Follow the river Dee path for three quarters of a mile until you reach the aqueduct.
On reaching the base of the aqueduct, go up the flight of stairs and turn left under the arch of the aqueduct.
On reaching the road walk left down the hill turning left over Bont Bridge. Follow the road for three quarters of a mile before taking the first left onto the canal towpath.
On reaching the canal turn left and follow the towpath to the aqueduct. Cross the aqueduct and take the path on your right and retrace your steps back along the river.
On re-entering the park turn left and walk up the hill to the visitor centre.
